Kagay Rafting - January 2012
Many thanks to Kagay in CDO for running us both down the mighty Cagayan River to put our new GoPro HD HERO2 cameras and various fittings to the test. The result is a couple of videos that we will be pleased to share with Kagay for mutual advertising purposes and a rather nice momento for those featured in the rafts :-) We did hand out cards so hopefully some of you will have found your way here to see what a great time you had! Don't hesitate to leave a comment here or email us with any comments :-)
The cameras and mounts were excellent and we are very happy with the results. We hope you are too! We did learn a few things of course so we hope to improve in our presentation of GoPro videos and images as we gain more experience.
A big shout out to the River Guides at Kagay as these guys and girls really know how to help you enjoy your rafting. They always make us feel right at home with their welcoming smiles and respectful attitude. Personally I would like to thank Nicole and King for the pleasure of rafting with them. Many thanks both!
King mentioned he and some other River Guides had formed a group of musicians melding ethnic instruments and music with the new. I was curious and asked to hear some. I really liked one of the tracks and decided to use it as a soundtrack to one of the videos. It is possibly better suited to a video with less action and maybe more of a calm river, but I used it here due to the strong "real" connection between one of the guides, his music, the river and his appearance in the video itself. The other, shorter video has a more up tempo soundtrack from the Trans-Seberian Orchestra which, whilst being equally unique, better relates to the action taking place and the sheer adrenalin being shown by the reactions of the paddlers and the movement of both rafts and water. Both videos give you a very different feel for the same activity.
Oh, if any of Kagay's customers featured in the rafts would like us to send you a copy of either video for your own memorabilia box, do let us know. We will ask a small payment of course as this is our job! Nice job, I know :-) We will also be giving a cut to Kagay as, without them and their equipment and expertise, none of this would have been possible :-)
ENJOY!
Peter & Love Mae
PS - Nicole, please forward the crew members names so I can add them in this description :-) Many thanks :-)
