Interschool Dancesport - Monochrome
This was an inter-schools dance competition in the Limketkai Atrium on Sunday 25th August 2011. It was not very well attended and there was no official photographer to record the event. I hooked up with Phillip, the light and sound man, before the show and he did his best to give me enough light to shoot flashless. However, he could not redirect the lighting which was heavily on stage front and virtually none on stage rear! Grrrr! The contestants appeared in groups meaning I had slim to no chance of getting enough light on the ones at the back of the stage - sorry guys :-(
However, I still got around 700 images and this gallery features a small number of them that are in monochrome (black and white). I chose these as I felt they had some feeling in them. I find dance to be a very emotional experience to watch when the performers are dancing from their heart. It is very clear that, despite their young ages (all 16 or under I believe!) some of them danced with so much passion that I actually found it quite difficult to focus on my photography as I got wrapped up in what they were doing! Amazing!
I am delighted to feature these images on this website and I thank you for dancing so beautifully. I had a really great time!
Keep on dancing!
ENJOY!
Peter :-)
PS - Please also look at all 700 of the very colourful images in the other gallery in this category too :-)
