Bluebells
The 9th May 2010. Forever remembered after today as Bluebell day!

Oh my, we were told that some of the best Bluebell Woods were in South Beds and Hertfordshire and clearly this information was spot on! Our friends David & Sue switched us onto the theme after seeing some of their family pictures taken in this setting so we patiently waited for this day! First up, we called in to see our new pal Brian who lives just off the A505 in Luton who directed us to the bluebells behind his home in what we have called Beech Hill Wood as it is located on Beech Hill. The images we obtained there feature Love Mae in a black outfit. We then mooched over to Dockey Wood on the Ashfield Estate at Ivinghoe where we found two other locations to get the rest. Love Mae then wore a dress although it was quite cold so she wore her jacket for some of the time.
We also found quite a few other people enjoying this quite surreal world where green glass is replaced by violet blooms - more appropriate to a planet seen in Avatar than Earth! In fact, after being in this environment for an hour or so, you get a real feeling of stepping back into reality when you step out of the woods! We absolutely loved the experience!
Some of those we met were so friendly that we just had to take a few images of them. Some had point and clicks, some had nothing at all to record their time there! The least we could do was give them the opportunity to see some images of themselves here (and we always do the least possible!). If you are featured in any of these images and would like to have the really large originals that we have (between 20MB and 25MB each and sharp enough to be blown up to cover any wall of your home) do drop us an email (the one shown above) and we will sort this out for you for a small contribution to our equipment purse :-)
I make no apology for Love Mae (unusually) appearing in so many of these images...I have never known anyone to enjoy nature as much as my lovely wife and as she is, herself, one of natures most beautiful creations, I just could not get enough of her amidst these amazing blooms. The contrast of the new green leaves against the bluebells is stunning! Thank you to the tech people at Canon for supplying us with the equipment to cleverly capture these wonderful scenes.
ENJOY!
Peter & Love Mae
