Another enjoyable East West Promotions event at the Howard Room in the Bedford Corn Exchange. But, unfortunately, no lovely HD video from this gig. Well, actually, I do have a handfull of clips that I might upload one or two from "as shot" but, in the main, the rest are not up to my usual standard. I noticed some scrolling "banding" as I was shooting and was very concerned that this was a camera or lens fault. I swapped lenses....still there. Changed battery, changed memory card, change every setting available to me but still the problem was there :-( Marcello the sound and lighting guru let me vary a few of the lights but as this was mid performance I did not experiment too much. Instead, I gave up videoing and shot a few stills. It then occured to me that a dimmed blue/grey LED might have a flicker rate that my DSLR did not like. I reserched it on the web when I got home and that was, indeed, the problem. I was very relieved that the equipment was not the problem!! Will crank any LEDS up a bit in future as this is a known problem with no workaround.
