Rythm J
Sunday 25th July 2011 was the Battle of the Bands event in Mulogan Opol near Elsalvador just outside CDO. I attended to support Rocky of course and this evening he was singing as part of a band (obviously) with Sheena.
Each of the 12 bands performed 3 songs in different styles and I generally shot a full song of each band. Unsure if I will ever get all these uploaded though - but I will try. I certainly need a better internet connection to get them here. The duet of Rocky and Sheena was a cool 1.05GB in HiDef. I had to shrink that right down to make it sensible for uploading here.
For now, enjoy Rocky in a solo performance. Sadly the sound was poor. Here in the Philippines they seem to think loudness is more important than quality - it is not :-( Also, stage lighting left quite a bit to be desired too. Some of the band members of each band were in the shadows, generally the drummer, base and keyboard players. And as you will see from the duet video, there was too much light to deal with on stage centre :-( A really difficult place to make a video actually. However, the raw talent was clearly evident as they won! Great performances from a few bands but not quite good enough to beat "Rythm J".
Im wondering why performers generally do not see the need to have a style. Jeans and a tee shirt seem to be the norm. The girls tend to make an effort so c'mon guys....lets start to look as good as you sound ok!
ENJOY!
