The guys at East West Promotions have done it again! A pleasure to shoot another gig for them as The Civic Theatre in Bedford was definately the place to be on Saturday night as Albert Lee and Hogan's Heroes banged out a whole bunch of fave tunes from two or three decades ago. Albert has played with them all and it was great to nail a few good shots of him and the band doing their stuff. Unfortunately, no video of the performance as they allowed photographs but not video to be taken (boo hiss I know but I do understand and accept the right of performers to keep as much control of their airplay as they wish).

Not only was the front man talented vocally, on the guitar and the keyboard but the rest of the band could play and sing with the best of them! Peter Baron on drums really nailed a Lennon track and I was so busy enjoying it I forgot to take any pictures at that time!

I had a chat with Albert after the gig and asked him if he ever planned on stopping or if he favoured doing it to the end. He gave me no sign that he was thinking about quitting and said it was what he did and he loved doing it. They say if you get a job you love, you will never work a day in your life...seems he is enjoying never doing a days work :-)

If you see these guys touring the UK again make sure you go see them.

PS - The Civic Theatre is under threat due to the council having plans to use it for offices! Get your name on that petition to keep it just the way it is!
