Santa Pod - Extreme Performance Bikes 2010 - Images
Just thought I would upload a handful of video captures starting off with Tim Blakemore's 6.76 run. This was a very well deserved result, indeed a PB, after a tough season of mechanical problems that you can read all about on his website here http://www.timblakemoreracing.co.uk
The numbers for the run are there too but I am sure he will not mind me pasting them here as well:-
60ft - 1.1287sec. 330ft - 2.8782sec. 4.3sec @ 171.5 mph at the 1/8th mile. 5.56sec at 1000ft @ 193.7 mph. Finally down to 173mph across the 1/4 mile line.
171.5mph in 4.3 seconds from rest. Awesome!
As a point of interest, these images capture not just one but two of the fastest people on two wheels. As a Marks & Spencer TV advert would say, this lady is no ordinary pitcrew. This is none other than Wendy Clutterbuck, a very successful drag racer in her own right. Wendy has won two consecutive Top Fuel Championships in 2006 and 2007 making her the first female to ever win a Nitro title on a bike. She was runner up in 2008 and whilst she has not raced for a while she is clearly planning to continue in the future :-)
ENJOY!
