Philippine Independence Day 2010
I was not really intending to take many images at "The Philippine Independence Day Celebrations 2010" event at Peterborough Hospital, just friends maybe, but the dancing girls caught my eye and so here are the results! I probably would have thought to shoot the entire event in a formal manner had my lovely wife not made us no less than two and a half hours late! We missed the entire first half of the proceedings but did arrive bang on time for food :-) But as my wife is a Filipina with an inbred disregard of the time, I just have to say thats as good as it gets! If you or your family members are in any of these images and you would like us to supply these to you on disc, please get in touch for further details of how to do this at info@clevercaptures.com
I used both long and short lenses here but, as with any stage performance being a little further away, I still favour the long lens. This also allowed me to capture some nice stolen shots of course! However, I must admit to being very disappointed after being asked to delete one image of a lady who I did not know :-( I took a perfectly brilliant shot of her having a great time and laughing with friends and decided to share it with her there and then as I was so pleased with it. She did not like it at all and told me I was very naughty for taking a stolen shot of her and that she wanted me to delete it. I deleted it in front of her but kept another one even though she did not seem too happy about that one either. I subsequently chose to delete that one also as our photography is not just about our own pleasure but the pleasure of others too.
It is never our intention to capture images that bring anything other than some form of happiness to the people in them and to the people who see them. I suppose this just goes to prove that you cannot keep all the people happy all of the time!
As always....
ENJOY!
