Peter Smart of Viking Kayak Club won a competition to meet and obtain some racing tips from Tim Brabants, the 2008 Olympic Gold Medal Winner in the 1000M K1 Sprint. The Club siezed the opportunity to enjoy the visit with Love Mae and I taking pictures of the occasion. Tim is pretty much the same as any other kayaker I have met. Friendly, very personable, and a generally good bloke. The essential difference is he paddles faster! He brought with him that amazing Gold Medal of course and the only things that were larger were the eyes of the Clubs youngsters as they stared at it!Big thanks to Tim for this and to Peter for sharing this prize with others. Brilliant!
